“One of Leah’s biggest strengths is utilizing a multitude of sources, in and out of music, to ensure that the essence of what we are trying to convey is clear. During “Bluing” we referred to multiple texts from Rebecca Solnit and Maggie Nelson, as well as ambient musical compositions to highlight key words that were given to us to create the piece. The way she infuses literature into her music, as well as her knack for distinct sounds, gives her a unique capacity to create compositions with nuance and subtlety. Alongside, Leah represents what it means to be an ideal collaborator: allowing her music collaborators the opportunity to showcase their unique musicality while staying true to the original intention of the direction of a piece (whether it be film, dance, or her own work).”

“It has been a privilege to see Leah grow as an artist in the years since we met. She is collaborative and brings innovation and perception to her crew. She is finding her personal style, but is not afraid to research new methods and genres to integrate. As a friend I’ve loved to see her skill and talent in music expand and grow, but it was a memorable opportunity to work with her as a colleague on more than one occasion. She both takes direction well and makes her own artistic decisions when given the freedom, and always puts her heart into any project she takes on. Pit Bullied was the first time I was able to work with an artist to truly notate the emotions and progression of my story. I’m excited to see what she takes on next!”
